  • Year 9s designing QPR stadium

The Year 9 students at Phoenix Academy were invited to take part in a very exciting project involving helping design the front area of the new QPR Stadium. Queens Park Rangers football club is looking to create a new state of the art football stadium which will have a large multi-purpose entrance. QPR want the entrance leading to the stadium to be a community resource which is not just for sport fans and connects the stadium to nearby green space.

The students have been working with professional designers, through the landscaping company Groundworks, to design the entrance of the stadium in a way that will benefit the community, have a positive impact on the environment and encourage people to visit the nearby green space.

The Royal Navy is also involved as they want to help the students develop their team working, communication and leadership skills. The students will also be working with Ellen Wilkinson School in Ealing on this project. Thank you to Mrs Hodder for assisting the students with this.

This project is part of the Academy's exceptional Raising Aspirations / Enrichment programme which provides students with many opportunities to enhance their skills, knowledge and cultural awareness.
