Our post-16 centre offers a rounded educational experience. Alongside high quality academic and vocational courses, students can access our enrichment programme in order to develop a range of essential life skills.
We work with Inspire to offer all Year 12 students a short course on cooking on a budget, basic DIY and communication/presentation skills.
All students spend half a term working on the land and producing food in our school farm, to help them to understand more about the food industry and the importance of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
In addition, there is a compulsory sports activity one period a week with access to the gym, football, badminton, dance, basketball and swimming.
Our cultural programme includes visiting speakers and trips to art galleries, theatre and the cinema.
The final enrichment offer is the opportunity to volunteer and to invest in your community. Students are expected to spend at least ten hours each year volunteering as a reading buddy, as a ‘number fit’ buddy or with young children in the countryside. This is accredited with the Vinspire programme.
These experiences build essential life skills but also provide valuable evidence for students’ personal statements and CVs. For more information, contact the sixth form personal tutors.
