Performance & OFSTED
We are delighted with the huge improvements this year in our GCSE results. Despite the many changes and increased level of challenge to the GCSE exams this year, Phoenix Academy students performed very well across the board. Most pleasing is that 54% of students passed both their English and Maths GCSEs this year.
Our school’s estimated Progress 8 score is +0.18, demonstrating that students made more progress than their peers across the country. The Attainment 8 measure is also very positive, and up on last year, with average attainment across the school of 4.3; classified as a pass.
The results were particularly pleasing at the highest grades. A fantastic 18% of all grades awarded were Grades 7-9 (A/A*). This is over double last year.

A Level Results
2018 brought another improvement in A-Level results at Phoenix Academy. With more entries than 2017, a number of subjects saw significant improvement in their results and there were some fantastic individual success stories, with the first student ever moving on to study Medicine at University.
