A round-up of last week's sports fixtures!
Our Year 7 team beat Glenthorne High School 11-10 and showed great determination after being 9-1 down.
Our Year 8 team was beaten in 5-1 in the Cup by St Pauls Academy. They conceded some late goals after going for the equaliser, which would have brought the game into extra time.
Our Year 9 team was also narrowly beaten in the cup, losing to Islington School 3-2, but they played really well - in the last moments of the match, they hit the post and unfortunately didn't get a penalty that they deserved.
Our Year 10 team lost 3-1 to St Thomas More in their first league game, again conceding late goals - the boys need to maintain their concentration in the final parts of their matches.
The U19s Phoenix Squad travelled to Fulham Foundation with Head Coach Dan Moss’s instructions ringing in their ears. The boys got off to a great start, scoring early and seeing the game out with tough defending. They won 4-1.
The U19s also travelled to play West Ham and hammered the home side 12-0. They remain at the top of the league with a far superior goal difference.
The Girls’ trials have been extremely well-attended this week with over 50 participants across KS3 & KS4. The games start soon and we travel to Berkshire and Hertfordshire in the cups. We hope to have some good results.
The Year 11 team attended a borough tournament, and with very little training, the girls held their own, coming third overall. They worked hard and showed great determination throughout. Next week sees the Year 10 tournament!
