Lord Nash had a successful career in venture capital and is a former Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association. He was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools and joined the House of Lords in 2013.

After reading law at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, John briefly practised as a barrister but moved on to the City and then into venture capital. He is a Foundation Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, Vice Chairman of its Development Committee and a member of its Investment Committee.

John supports several charities for young people. He has been the Chairman of Future since 2006. John is deeply passionate about transforming the life chances of young people. He is the driving force behind the Trust's Education Enrichment programme.

Lady Nash has a BA in History from Bristol University. A stockbroker by training, she had a successful career in the international division of a French merchant bank. She is a former counsellor for the Citizens' Advice Bureau.

Caroline is the leading force in curriculum development across the Trust. Caroline has overseen the development of the new KS3 curriculum at Pimlico Academy and the KS2 curriculum at the primaries, and she led a national pilot with the Education Endowment Foundation.

Having four years of experience as a secondary Science teacher and Head of Physics at two challenging London schools, Kate has a strong understanding of the life of a secondary school. She now works as a policy advisor in the Department for Education, bringing her experience from the classroom to policy-making. Outside of work she is a keen hiker and enjoys swimming and cycling. She lives locally to the school, and is a frequent visitor to the leisure centre at Phoenix.

Working for the Brilliant Club and working closely with schools to ensure that pupils from under-represented backgrounds have access to a variety of higher education, Andrew hopes that his experience will be beneficial to the governing board at Phoenix. Andrew is keen to use his experience to contribute to improving outcomes for students at Phoenix, especially for STEM subjects and Careers Advice, Information and Guidance. Prior to working in the field of Widening Participation, Andrew completed at D.Phil in History at the University of Oxford, and maintains a keen interest in medieval history.

Educated at Oxford, Matthew started his career in the Civil Service at HM Treasury working on public spending control.  Before joining the Senior Civil Service he also held roles at the Cabinet Office and Number 10.  Matthew’s leadership posts have included work at the Cabinet Office to improve Government efficiency and roles at the Home Office and Ministry of Justice, where he currently leads the Criminal Court & Criminal Law Policy Unit.
